No, it is quite real! IIRC, the guy stalled the engine mid-flight (perhaps forgetting to enrich mixture while descending). The Cub has no starter, and doesn’t fly fast enough for the prop to windmill.
He was trying to hand-prop it while the passenger held ‘er steady.

True…done this many times. Did it in Airshows…..best to have an ‘easy starting’ engine……..

Noticed the beach is an easy out. I’m thinking it was most certainly staged but no digital trickery, a genuine extra vehicular trip.
