Aerial footage of USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) aircraft carrier conducting high speed turns during Sea Trials. It is the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the most expensive aircraft carrier ever built and the largest ship ever constructed in terms of displacement. A behemoth! Seeing a boat that MASSIVE move like that is awe inspiring!

Don’t know about anyone else, but I would love the opportunity to be aboard the aircraft carrier while doing these maneuvers. Who knew you could drift a carrier.

Coming Soon to Theaters: Free and Furious – Carrier Drift.

An aircraft carrier’s high-speed turn is a breathtaking display of nautical prowess. These massive vessels carrying a complement of fighter jets and helicopters, can execute sharp turns at remarkable speeds. The maneuver showcases the carrier’s agility and the skill of its crew. As the carrier banks into the turn, it tilts dramatically, creating a spectacle of water, waves, and raw power. This maneuver is not only a demonstration of the carrier’s maneuverability but also a critical tactic in evading threats and optimizing the launch and recovery of aircraft in high-stress situations.
